★ Swiss QR Invoice

Swiss invoices your customers simply scan

Your invoice carries the Swiss payment part with its QR code. The customer scans it with any Swiss banking app instead of typing account numbers, and the reference comes back with the payment so you can see which invoice was settled.

Why it matters

The slowest part of getting paid in Switzerland is rarely the customer’s willingness. It is the moment they have to copy an account number, an amount and a reference from a PDF into a banking app without making a mistake.

The Swiss payment part with its QR code removes that step. Everything the bank needs is in the code: the account, the amount, the currency, the recipient and the reference. The customer scans, checks and confirms.

The benefit on your side is the reference. Because it travels with the payment, an incoming amount can be matched to the invoice it belongs to, which is what turns a bank statement from a puzzle into a list of settled invoices.

What Swiss QR Invoice does for you

All in IDup — one login, no silos.

The payment part is on the invoice

The Swiss payment part is produced as part of the invoice PDF, in the layout Swiss customers already recognise. Nothing has to be attached separately and nothing has to be printed on special paper.

Scanning instead of typing

The customer opens their banking app, scans the code and confirms. Nothing is typed, which removes the three mistakes that cause most payment problems: a wrong digit in the account, a wrong amount and a missing reference.

A reference for every invoice

Each invoice carries its own reference, and that reference comes back with the payment. That is what makes it possible to say which invoice an incoming amount belongs to instead of guessing from the name and the amount.

Fewer corrections afterwards

A payment that arrives with the right reference and the right amount needs no research, no phone call and no manual correction — which is where most of the hidden cost of invoicing actually sits.

What a wrong reference costs

What a wrong reference costs

An incoming payment without a usable reference is not a small problem. Somebody has to find out which customer it came from, which invoice it covers, and whether the amount is complete.

That work is invisible in any process description and very visible in the hours it takes each month, especially for businesses with many small invoices where the research costs more than the invoice is worth.

A reference that is carried by the payment itself removes the research entirely. The invoice is marked as paid because the payment says which invoice it was for, not because somebody worked it out.

How it works

1
Write the invoice

The invoice is written in IDup as usual, with your branding, items and tax rates.

2
Send the PDF with the payment part

The payment part with the QR code is part of the PDF that is sent or printed.

3
The customer scans and pays

The customer scans the code in their banking app, and the reference comes back with the payment.

Part of the invoice, not a separate tool

Part of the invoice, not a separate tool

A payment part is only convenient if it is produced where the invoice is produced. Anything that requires a second system, a separate generator or a manual step will be skipped on a busy day.

In IDup the payment part comes from the invoice itself, with the amount, the currency and the reference already correct because they come from the same record.

That also keeps the rest consistent. The invoice, the reminder if one becomes necessary, the payment and the accounting entry all refer to the same reference, so the trail from the order to the booked payment stays unbroken.

Questions & Answers

Do my customers need a special app?

No. Any common Swiss banking app can read the code on the payment part; that is the point of a single national standard.

Can I still send a normal PDF by email?

Yes. The payment part is part of the invoice PDF, so it works whether the invoice is emailed or printed.

How do I know which invoice was paid?

Each invoice carries its own reference, and the reference travels with the payment, so an incoming amount can be matched to the invoice it belongs to.

Does this work for customers outside Switzerland?

The Swiss payment part is a Swiss standard. For international customers IDup invoices in 20 currencies with the usual payment options.

Do I need special paper or a special printer?

No. The payment part is part of the document itself and prints on ordinary paper.

Is this connected to my accounting?

Yes. Invoice, payment and accounting entry refer to the same record, so a settled invoice does not have to be booked a second time by hand.
