Send events to your own system with webhooks
Add an endpoint, choose events, verify the signature, test it and read the delivery log.
A webhook lets IDup call a web address of yours the moment something happens, for example when an invoice is paid. Every delivery is signed and repeated if your system does not answer.
Add an endpoint
- Open the Webhooks tab and press Add endpoint.
- Enter a Name and the URL. It must be publicly reachable. Addresses inside a private network are refused for security reasons.
- Tick the Events you want.
- Optional: choose an API key. The endpoint then receives only events that this key may read.
- Press Save. IDup shows Your signing secret once. Store it safely.
Events
- Invoice created, Invoice paid, Payment received
- New customer, New contact, New lead, New ticket
- Offer accepted — a quote that a customer accepted
Every delivery carries three headers: the event name, a delivery number and the signature. A retry keeps the same delivery number, so your system can recognise duplicates.
Check the signature
Your system should compute an HMAC-SHA256 over the time and the raw body with your secret, compare it with the signature, and refuse a time older than 5 minutes. Press Verify signature and examples for ready-made code.
Test, pause and renew
- Send test sends a test event and shows the HTTP code and the time it took.
- Pause stops deliveries; Activate starts them again.
- Roll secret creates a new secret. The old one stops working at once.
- Delete removes the endpoint. Its log is kept.
Retries and the log
Your address must answer with a 2xx code within 5 seconds. Redirects are not followed. If it fails, IDup tries again after 1 minute, 5 minutes, 30 minutes, 2 hours and 12 hours. After the sixth try the delivery is marked Given up.
The log shows each try with event, endpoint, attempt, HTTP code, duration and the start of the answer. Status is Waiting, Delivered, Failed or Given up. Use Resend to send a delivery again.
Nothing is tracked — the buttons only open a message so you can tell us what was missing.
