The customer portal

What your customers see when they sign in, and how you control it.

The portal is the part of IDup your customers touch. It removes many “any update?” e-mails, because the answer is on a page they can open themselves.

What a customer sees

  • A dashboard with the counts that concern them.
  • Invoices, Quotes and Contracts, each with its status.
  • Projects, but only the parts you marked visible.
  • Support: the tickets they opened and your replies.
  • The Knowledge Base you published.
  • Profile and the privacy page.

Quotes and contracts can be opened and accepted online. The customer signs on screen, with a finger or the mouse. IDup then sends a PDF with a verification log to the customer and to you. See Let customers accept a quote online.

Give a contact access

  1. Open the customer, then the contact.
  2. Switch on portal access and set what the contact may see.
  3. Save. The contact sets a password and signs in with a code sent by e-mail.
  4. Or invite from the customer list: the Portal / App column offers Send by email and Show QR code.

Decide what is visible

Visibility is set per item. A project, a file, a task or a ticket can be visible to the customer or internal. You work openly where it helps and privately where it does not.

Language and sign-in

The sign-in page follows the language of the visitor's browser unless the visitor picks another one. After the password, the customer gets a six-digit code by e-mail.

For an industry-specific portal, see Set up the customer area.
