Change or reset your password
Where the password lives, what it has to look like, and what happens when you reset it.
Your password belongs to your IDup account, not to a particular company. Changing it changes it everywhere you sign in.
Step by step
- Open your own profile from the top bar of the workspace.
- Enter the current password and then the new one twice.
- A password needs at least 10 characters, with an upper-case letter, a lower-case letter and a digit — the same rule that applies when an invited person first sets one.
- Save. You stay signed in on this device; other devices keep their sessions until they expire or you end them.
If you forgot it
- Use the password reset link on the sign-in page.
- Follow the link in the e-mail and set a new password.
- Sign in. If two-factor is on, a six-digit code follows by e-mail.
One password, one resetIf your employee access at a company uses your IDup account password, the reset is done on the IDup account — the message on screen says so explicitly rather than leaving you to guess.
After a reset, check your sessions
Open Central → Active sessions and end anything you do not recognise. See Active sessions and devices.
