One password for your IDup account and your employee access
If you have an IDup account and an active connection to a company, the same password opens that company's employee access.
People who work for a company that uses IDup used to carry two passwords: one for their IDup account and one for the employee login. That is now one.
The system states the rule on the sign-in page itself: your IDup password also works for your employee access at that company.
The exact rule
Anyone with an active IDup account and an active connection to the company can also sign in to the employee access using their IDup account password. The existing employee password stays valid as well — nothing is taken away.
Why one password is the safer option
- Several accounts per person does not produce more security. It produces similar passwords, reused passwords, and passwords written down.
- One account that is protected properly — with a code by e-mail on top — is easier to protect than several that are protected approximately.
- Separation happens inside the account, through areas, not through separate logins.
Resetting it
- Use the password reset on the sign-in page.
- If your employee access uses your IDup account password, the reset e-mail is sent for the IDup account — the message says so.
- Set the new password and sign in again; a six-digit code follows by e-mail if two-factor is on.
Nothing is tracked — the buttons only open a message so you can tell us what was missing.
