Switch push notifications on or off, by category

The usual reaction to messages being missed is to send more of them. It almost never works, because the problem was never the number of messages — a channel that is mostly noise gets muted, and then the one urgent message is lost with the rest.

IDup therefore lets each person keep the notifications that are useful to them. There are twenty-three categories; all of them start switched on, and every one can be switched off individually. A twenty-fourth, Other notifications, is off by default and catches anything that does not belong to a named category.

Step by step

1. Open the push settings in the app.
2. The master switch at the top turns push off entirely for this account.
3. Below it is one switch per category. Turn off the ones you do not want.
4. The screen also shows how many devices are registered for this account.
5. Use the test notification to confirm the phone really receives one.

As somebody who works in a company

As a connected person — an employee or a customer

• Invoices and quotes (the ones addressed to you)
• Project updates (a project of yours changed status)
• Your order updates (an order of yours changed status)

Two of these look alike on purpose. Invoices and quotes as an employee means your company's billing; the customer-side category with the same words means invoices and quotes addressed to you. The same applies to Projects and Project updates: the first is what an employee is told about the company's projects, the second is what a customer is told about theirs.

Central → Notifications is the master page: it holds the preferences for the workspace, the inbox and AI Studio in one list, per person. What you set there is what the other two parts obey.
