Invite a customer or an employee
Inviting is a tick box next to the person, not a separate process — and nobody is invited without it.
Invitations in IDup are explicit. There is a checkbox labelled Invite to the IDup app on the employee and contact forms, with the hint “Chat, appointments and hours directly with your company — free of charge.” If the box is not ticked, no invitation is sent.
Step by step
- Open the person's record — an employee under Central → Team, a contact on the customer.
- Make sure the e-mail address is filled in. Without one the status shows E-mail missing and the tick box is not available.
- Tick Invite to the IDup app and save. The invitation is queued immediately.
- Watch the IDup app column on the list. It shows Not invited, Invited (today), Invited (x days ago), Scheduled, Active or E-mail invalid.
- If someone did not act on it, use Send again on their row. The old link stops working and a new one is sent.
Inviting many people at once
The IDup connections page has bulk actions: Invite everyone, Invite all who are not invited yet and Invite selected.
Making the tick box pre-ticked
If you want every new person invited by default, open IDup connections and set the two options Tick set by default for new employees and Tick set by default for new contacts. They are separate on purpose: many companies want employees connected automatically and customers only on request.
Ending a connection
- Find the person on the IDup connections list.
- Select Disconnect.
- The system confirms: the connection has ended and the person keeps their own private account.
- Your company disappears from their area picker. A running hours timer, if any, is stopped automatically with that reason recorded.
Nothing is tracked — the buttons only open a message so you can tell us what was missing.
