Messages between a company and a connected person

Messages in IDup are not a group chat. There is exactly one conversation between your company and each connected person, and it stays with the relationship rather than with whoever's phone the history happens to be on.

Step by step

1. Open Messages. The list shows every connected person of this company, with the last message and an unread count.
2. Select a person to open the thread. The header shows whether the connection is Connected or Connection ended.
3. Write in the box at the bottom and select Send.
4. Use Attachment to send a document or a photo. It stays attached to the thread, so a year later the picture and the sentence that described it are still together.

In the app

1. Open the messages area of the app.
2. Tap the company (in a private account) or the person (in a company area).
3. Write and send. New messages arrive as a push notification under the category Messages from your company, which the recipient can switch off.

What the system enforces

• A message needs text or a file — an empty send is refused with “Please enter a text or attach a file.”
• Very long texts and oversized or disallowed files are refused with a plain reason rather than failing silently.
• After a connection ends, writing stops: “The connection has ended. Writing is no longer possible.” The history stays readable.
• Sending many messages in a short time is rate-limited, to stop an automated flood.
