What IDup connections are
A connection links a person to your company inside IDup — and gives them a free private account of their own.
Most business software treats an employee and a customer as records. IDup treats them as people who can have an account.
A connection is that link. Your company invites a person; they get a personal IDup account that is free and stays theirs; and inside it they see exactly one thing about you — the relationship they have with your company.
That is what makes chat, appointments, hours and push notifications possible without giving anybody access to your workspace.
What a connected person can do
- Read and write messages with your company.
- See appointments you arranged with them, accept or decline, and — if you switch it on — book one themselves.
- Record working hours and send them to you for approval (for employees).
- Receive push notifications on their phone, per category, each of which they can switch off.
- Sign in with one password, even if three different companies have connected them.
What a connected person cannot do
- See your workspace, your other customers, your accounting or your team.
- See the other companies they are connected to from inside yours.
- Keep seeing you after the connection ends — the company simply disappears from their list.
The two roles
- Employee — someone who works for you. Hours and approval apply to them.
- Contact — someone at a customer. Invoices, quotes and payment reminders can reach them as push notifications.
Nothing is tracked — the buttons only open a message so you can tell us what was missing.
