Capture receipts without AI

Upload a photo or a PDF, type what it says, and the receipt stays attached to the booking for good.

Not every receipt needs to be read automatically. A handful a month is faster typed than checked, and the free Basic plan does not include the AI reading at all.

What matters either way is that the image and the entry never separate.

Where to find itFinance → Expenses, and Accounting → Belege importieren for bulk.

Step by step

  1. Open Finance → Expenses and add a new expense.
  2. Fill in the supplier, the date, the amount and the tax rate.
  3. Choose the expense category — this is what decides where it lands in the accounts.
  4. Attach the receipt itself: a photo, a scan or a PDF.
  5. If it is billable to a customer, mark it so; it can then be pulled onto their next invoice.
  6. Save. The expense is now in the ledger with its proof attached.

In the app

  1. Open expenses in the app and use the Scan receipt card.
  2. Take a photo, or choose an existing image or PDF.
  3. Correct anything the reading missed, set the Paid switch, and save — see Scan a receipt with the camera.

Many receipts at once

Accounting → Belege importieren takes a batch instead of one file, which is the right route after a trip or at the end of a month. Each one still ends up as its own expense with its own attachment.

What a good scan looks like

  • The whole receipt inside the frame, on a plain surface.
  • No shadow over the total or the date.
  • One receipt per image — two in one photo become one booking.
