How accounting works in IDup
One accounting area fed by everything else — invoices, expenses, bank movements and scanned receipts all land in the same ledger.
Most small businesses keep their books twice: once in the invoicing tool and once again in an accounting package, joined by an export at the end of the quarter. IDup does not, because the invoice and the booking are the same system.
What that means in practice: an invoice you send is already in the ledger, a receipt you photograph is already an expense, and the year-end report is built from what is there rather than from what you remember to enter.
Step by step
- Open Accounting. The dashboard shows the current position — what has been booked, what is still open.
- Journal is the full list of bookings, newest first, with filters for period and account.
- The reports page (labelled Reports (GuV/Bilanz/MwSt)) produces the profit and loss statement, the balance sheet and the VAT report for a period you choose.
- Jahresabschluss is the year-end close — see Close the year.
- Belege importieren imports receipts in bulk rather than one at a time.
The other finance areas that feed it
- Finance → Expenses — what you spend, with the receipt attached.
- Finance → Cash/Bank Manage — cash and bank accounts, transfers, deposits, withdrawals and opening balances.
- Finance → Purchase — supplier invoices, purchase orders and debit notes.
- CRM → Sales — the invoices, credit notes and payments on the income side.
Some labels are still in German
Three entries inside the accounting module — Reports (GuV/Bilanz/MwSt), Jahresabschluss and Belege importieren — show their German names even when the rest of IDup is in English. They mean reports, year-end close and receipt import. This is a known display issue in that module, not a different feature.
Nothing is tracked — the buttons only open a message so you can tell us what was missing.
