Create an estimate, a proposal or a contract
Everything you send before the work — and how it turns into an invoice afterwards.
IDup separates three documents that are often confused. An estimate is a priced offer. A proposal is the same plus the argument for it. A contract is what binds once they say yes.
Step by step
- Open Estimates (or Proposals) and create a new one for the customer or the lead.
- Add the lines, the tax and the validity date.
- Send it. The customer can accept or decline it from their portal, and their answer is recorded on the document.
- When it is accepted, convert it into an invoice — the lines come across rather than being retyped.
- If a signed agreement follows, create it under Sales & billing → Contracts, with its type, its dates and its renewal reminder.
Estimate requests
Sales & billing → Estimate request is the incoming side: a form a prospect fills in on your website that becomes a request you can price. It saves the first exchange of e-mails.
Statuses that mean something
- Estimates: draft, sent, expired, declined, accepted.
- Proposals: open, revised, sent, declined, accepted.
- Contracts: active, expiring, expired — with a reminder before the date rather than after it.
Nothing is tracked — the buttons only open a message so you can tell us what was missing.
