WhatsApp consents
WhatsApp campaigns only go to numbers whose owner agreed. Record, check and withdraw consents.
Marketing messages on WhatsApp may only go to people who agreed. IDup enforces this. Campaigns and bulk sending stop for every number without recorded consent.
Where to find itMarketing → WhatsBot → Campaigns or Marketing → WhatsBot → CSV Campaign Choose Manage consents in the bar at the top. The page WhatsApp consents has tabs for all, with consent, withdrawn and without consent.
Step by step
- Open the page WhatsApp consents. The overview shows the numbers with consent and the contacts without.
- Choose Record consent.
- Choose how consent was given: form or website, verbally or by phone, customer request or WhatsApp reply.
- Tick the box that confirms you can prove it. Each entry is saved with date, source and your name.
- To withdraw a consent, use Withdraw consent. From then on nothing is sent to that number.
You can also paste a list of numbers, one per line, or select contacts without consent and record them together.
What happens when you send
- Numbers without consent are not sent. The reason appears in the log.
- After a bulk send you see a message such as "2 numbers without consent were not sent".
- If someone replies STOP, the consent is withdrawn automatically.
- Download the proof as a CSV file.
Before your first campaignExisting contacts have no recorded consent. The first bulk send stops until you record consent. Only record consent that really exists.
Check before sendingThe check is on by default. Only an administrator can switch it off. A bar on the campaign pages shows whether it is on.
