Rent payments and the rent account
See who has paid the rent, record payments by hand, by bank file or online, and hand tenants a statement.
Every lease has a rent account: what is due each month and what has been paid. You do not need to issue an invoice for it.
Start the rent account
Until a property is started, a card asks Start the rent account for Musterweg 12 – paid up to when? Click Start now, choose Paid up to and including and click Carry over as paid. The opening balance is marked as such and can be reversed per lease. Nothing is started on its own.
Record payments
- Record payment takes the amount, the date, the type (Bank, Cash, TWINT, Offset or Other) and optionally the month. Month paid books a whole month. Bulk entry does it for several tenants at once.
- A wrong payment is not deleted. Use Cancel payment and give a reason.
- Import bank statement reads camt.053 or camt.054 files. IDup matches by payment reference, IBAN, or name and amount. Doubtful credits wait under Review bank suggestions. A live bank connection needs a participant contract with your bank.
- Create payment link lets the tenant pay by card or PayPal, or with TWINT or a QR code through a payment method you have connected. The payment shows in the account immediately.

The key figures are Due this month, Paid, Open, Overdue and Payment rate. Click a row for the tenant account. Year grid shows tenants by 12 months. The account statement exports as PDF, Excel or CSV. QR payment slips for a whole year come as one PDF.
Tenants and accounting
Tenants see the same account in the customer area. If IDup accounting is switched on, rent due and payments are also booked, with accounts you choose per property under Accounting. More → Post opening balance books months already paid, with a preview, and can be reversed.
