Projects, and what your customer sees of them
Run the work in IDup and decide, item by item, what the customer may see.
A project in IDup is where the work, the time, the costs and the files for one job live together. It is also the cleanest way to answer “how is it going?” without writing an update.
Step by step
- Open Projects & tasks → Projects and create one for the customer.
- Set the dates and the billing type — fixed price, per hour, or by task.
- Add the members who will work on it.
- Break it into tasks. Each task has an owner, a due date and a status.
- Mark what the customer may see. Visibility is per item — a task, a file, a milestone or a discussion can be visible or internal.
- Watch the project's own overview for time booked, costs and progress.
In the app
- Open projects in the app to see status, tasks and time.
- A connected customer sees their projects in their own area, limited to what you marked visible.
Making progress visible without extra work
The customer portal shows project status, visible tasks and visible milestones. Once those are maintained as part of doing the work, the status update writes itself — and the “any update?” e-mail stops arriving.
Around projects
- Project roadmap — the timeline view across projects.
- Project templates — a standard project you start from instead of rebuilding.
- ProjectSpot — projects grouped by category with their own settings.
- Staff workload — who is over-committed, before they tell you.
Nothing is tracked — the buttons only open a message so you can tell us what was missing.
