Track time on projects and tasks
Start a timer or enter a block, then turn the hours into an invoice.
Time that is recorded after the fact is time that is under-recorded. The point of a timer inside the task is that it costs nothing to start.
Step by step
- Open the task or the project and start the timer when you begin.
- Stop it when you finish. The entry keeps who, when, how long and against what.
- Add an entry by hand for work done away from the screen. A note explaining it makes the later invoice defensible.
- Check the project's time view for what has been booked and what is still unbilled.
- When you invoice that customer, the unbilled time is offered as lines. Add it and it is marked billed.
The other time areas
- Admin → Timesheets — attendance, leave, shifts and shift categories, with reports and settings. This is working time, not project time.
- Admin → Time records — managing timesheets, the timesheet summary and timesheet templates.
- Reports & analytics → Reports → Timesheets — the overview across people.
Hours from connected people
A connected employee records hours in their own account and sends them for approval. That is a different flow with its own approval rules — see Record and approve working hours.
