Assign a receipt to a customer or project
After a scan, IDup asks what the receipt belongs to, suggests an answer and can prepare a draft invoice.
A receipt is worth most when it is linked to the job it was for. After you scan a receipt, IDup asks What does this receipt belong to?
It reads the receipt text and suggests answers. Each suggestion is marked sure or maybe. Names can appear in any order.
Step by step
- Scan the receipt. See Capture receipts.
- Check the suggestions: customer or tenant, project, category. For rental use there are also property, unit and maintenance case.
- Under Re-bill choose what happens with the cost.
- Click Accept & book. Or click Assign later to book it now and assign it afterwards.
Re-bill choices
- No — nothing is passed on.
- Re-bill to customer — needs a customer.
- Charge to tenant — needs a tenant with a lease.
- Include in service charges — needs a property.
Several receipts at once
IDup shows Receipt 1 of 2, Receipt 2 of 2 and so on. Tick Keep this assignment for the next receipts to reuse your answer.
Receipts still open
The Unassigned button next to Scan receipt lists receipts without a customer, project or property. Click Assign, or choose No link needed.
IDup learns
It remembers your choices per company. A later receipt from the same supplier gets the same suggestion, marked learned from earlier receipts.
Existing receipts stay as they are. Old ones appear under Unassigned. Whether a receipt counts in a service-charge statement depends on the category setting at the property.
Nothing is tracked — the buttons only open a message so you can tell us what was missing.
