Messages in IDup are not a group chat. There is exactly one conversation between your company and each connected person. It stays with the relationship, not with whoever's phone the history happens to be on.

Where to find itMessages in the company workspace. My messages in the private account and in the app.

Step by step

  1. Open Messages. The list shows every connected person of this company, with the last message and an unread count.
  2. Select a person to open the thread. The header shows whether the connection is active or ended.
  3. Write in the box at the bottom and select Send.
  4. Use Attach a file to send a document or a photo. It stays with the thread.

In the app

  1. Open Messages (private account: My messages).
  2. Tap the company, or the person in a company area.
  3. Write and send. The recipient gets a push notification in the category Messages from your company. They can switch it off.

Customers of a tax advisor or a trustee

These customers can write to their firm from their file. The message carries the reference of that file. The firm sees it as about file followed by the file name.

Staff only see the conversations of the customers they look after. See Your tax or trust file in the app.

What the system enforces

  • A message needs text or a file. An empty message is refused with Please enter a text or attach a file.
  • Very long texts and oversized or disallowed files are refused with a plain reason.
  • After a connection ends, writing stops: The connection has ended. Writing is no longer possible. The history stays readable.
  • Sending many messages in a short time is rate-limited.
