Appointments with connected people

An appointment in IDup is not only an entry in your calendar. If it involves a connected person, it appears in their calendar too, with a response they can give.

Step by step

1. Arrange the appointment the way you normally do in your workspace — the calendar, the appointments module, an event or a task, depending on which of those your company uses.
2. Because the person is connected, they receive it: an e-mail with the subject “Appointment: …” and a calendar file attached, plus a push notification under Appointment reminders.
3. They see it under My calendar, described as Your appointments with connected companies, split into Upcoming and Past.
4. They select Accept or Decline. Their answer appears on your side in the Response column — No response yet, Accepted or Declined.
5. If you move or cancel it, they get “Changed appointment: …” or “Cancelled appointment: …”, and a cancelled appointment can no longer be answered.

The calendar file

Each appointment mail carries a calendar attachment with a stable identifier, so a change updates the existing entry in the recipient's calendar instead of creating a second one. The mail says so: the attached file adds the appointment to your calendar.

Where the appointment came from

The company side shows a Source column, because an appointment can originate in several places: the appointments module, the appointment manager, an event, or a task. The source is recorded rather than flattened, so you can always trace it back.
