Tell a customer when a project moves

The most common customer question is “how is it going?”, and the most common cause is that the answer only exists inside your workspace.

When a project's status changes, the customers who are meant to know receive a push notification: Project updated, and underneath the project and the move, in the form Website relaunch: In progress → Finished.

Step by step

1. Open the project under Projects & tasks → Projects.
2. Decide who may be told: the project's own customer-notification setting decides between nobody, every active contact of the customer who has project e-mails switched on, and a chosen few.
3. Change the status as you normally would.
4. Connected contacts among those recipients get the push straight away, in their own language, with the status names translated.
5. Tapping it opens that company's area and the project inside it.

Who does and does not get it

• It follows the project's existing notification rule — the same one that decides who would receive the project e-mail. There is no second setting to keep in step.
• A push also needs an IDup connection, because without one there is no device to send to.
• A project that is not visible to the customer notifies nobody.
• Employees are not notified this way: their project and task notifications keep running through the normal workspace notifications.

Switching it off

The same status twice

Moving a project back to a status it already had notifies again, because it is a new change. A change is reported exactly once even when several parts of the workspace react to it at the same moment.
